What to expect your first time at Inner Balance

Classes  -  What class do I start with?

Pilates Reformer
If you’re new to Pilates—or returning after a break—we recommend starting with 6–8 Reformer Foundations or Stretch classes. These classes move at a slower pace, giving you time to learn terminology and proper form while getting comfortable on the Reformer. They are designed to be supportive and confidence-building before progressing into more challenging classes. Stay with Foundations and Stretch until you feel ready to move forward. From there, you can explore Essentials, Intermediate, and eventually Advanced classes at your own pace.

Yoga
If you’re new to yoga, we recommend beginning with a Slow Flow class. This class moves at a gentler pace, with poses held longer to make them easier to follow. Slow Flow helps build confidence and familiarity with common poses before transitioning into more dynamic Vinyasa Flow classes.

Barre
If you’re new to Barre, begin with Barre Basics. This class focuses on learning proper positioning and terminology while remaining accessible for beginners. Even at the basics level, you can expect a challenging workout that prepares you for more advanced Barre classes as you progress.

How do I book a class?

To ensure a seamless booking experience, Inner Balance uses the MINDBODY online booking system. You can download our FREE  Inner Balance Studio App, for hassle-free class bookings, rescheduling, and managing your account on the go.

** Please make sure that your pop-up blocker is turned off when scheduling for classes online.  **

What to Know Before Your First Class

  • Private Intro Option: If you're not quite ready to jump into a group class, we do offer  Private Reformer sessions to help you get started. To schedule, email us at innerbalancepiyo@yahoo.com.

  • Arrival Time: For your first visit, please arrive 10 minutes early. This gives us time to:

    • Welcome you and give a quick studio tour

    • Answer any questions

    • Help you feel comfortable and prepared

  • Late Arrival Policy: If you arrive more than 5 minutes after class has started, we will kindly ask that you reschedule for a later time that day or another day to ensure a safe and focused experience for everyone.

 What to Bring to Class

  • Comfortable Activewear: Please wear clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably throughout class.

  • Grip Socks: These are required for both safety and hygiene. If you forget yours, grip socks are available for purchase at the studio for $15.

  • Water Bottle: We provide chilled water, but ask that you bring your own reusable bottle to help us reduce waste. Forgot yours? No worries—we have cups available.

  • Sweat Towel: We provide sweat towels, but you're welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

How Many People Are in Each Class?

At Inner Balance, we value personalized attention and a supportive environment. To ensure quality instruction and individual guidance:

  • Reformer classes are limited to 6 clients
  • Ladder Barrel classes are limited to 4 clients
  • Yoga and barre classes are limited to 8 clients

This small class size allows our instructors to provide hands-on support and adapt to each client’s needs, creating a more focused and tailored experience for every participant.

 Cancellation Policy

To avoid forfeiting your session, all cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to the start of class.

Early Morning Classes (before 8:00 AM):
Cancellations must be made by 10:00 PM the night before.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. However, because our class sizes are limited, enforcing this policy allows us to offer open spots to clients on the waitlist and maintain fairness for everyone.

Cancellations made outside of the required notice window will result in a $25 fee.

No-Shows:
If you do not attend your scheduled class and fail to cancel in advance, the session will be forfeited and a $25 no-show fee will be automatically deducted from your account.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

What If My Class Is Cancelled?

Classes at Inner Balance require a minimum of 2 participants to proceed. In the event of a cancellation, which may occur up to 2-3 hours before the class start time, we will notify you via text or email. This policy helps us manage our schedule efficiently while minimising inconvenience to our clients.

Booking Classes and Waitlist

  •  All classes (Barre, Yoga, and all Pilates classes) will follow a 60-day rolling booking window.
    What this means:
    • VIP clients can book classes up to 65 days from the current date.
  • Single drop in and non VIP members can book classes up to 60 days from current date.

If you add yourself to a waitlist, the system assumes you’ll attend if a spot opens up. You’ll be automatically added to the class and notified by text and email - there’s no need to confirm.

If you’re added to a class and can’t attend, please remove yourself as soon as possible. Standard cancellation policies apply if you cancel within 12 hours of class or don’t show up.

Tip: Waitlists can move quickly - particularly overnight - so if you know you can’t make it, we recommend removing yourself the night before to avoid any late fees or losing a session.

I am pregnant, can I attend classes?

You can attend group classes up until 16 weeks, after that point we can offer private sessions. If you are a regular member at Inner Balance please email us for more information innerbalancepiyo@yahoo.com.

Can I still do Pilates/Yoga/Barre if I have an injury?

The suitability of Pilates/Yoga or Barre depends on your injury's severity and recovery progress. While we can often adapt exercises in our group classes to accommodate different needs, some situations may require private sessions for a more tailored approach. To discuss your specific circumstances and determine the best option, please email us at innerbalancepiyo@yahoo.com.

How old do I have to be?

You must be 16 years or over to attend our group classes.  We understand there can be expectations, please contact us directly to further discuss any class for your teen.

What facilities do you offer?

We provide complimentary towels, drinking water, and have a small changing facility in the studio. We do not offer showering facilities.

Massage Policies

What to expect:

Your massage therapist will begin with a few questions to understand your overall health, medical history, lifestyle, and wellness goals. This includes discussing stress levels, medications, areas of discomfort, and any conditions that may affect your session.

This information helps your therapist tailor the massage to meet your specific needs.

Before your massage begins:

  • You’ll be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort.
  • Your therapist will step out of the room while you undress. Remove only what you feel comfortable with.
  • Lie on the massage table under the provided sheet, which will always cover you except for the area being worked on.
  • The table is padded for comfort and may have accessories such as a face cradle, allowing you to lie facedown without straining your neck.
  • Simply relax and breathe normally throughout your session.

After your massage, your therapist will leave the room so you can slowly get up and dress in privacy.

Policies:

We understand that life happens. To ensure fairness and availability for all clients, we ask that you review the following policies:

Cancellations

  • Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another client.

No-Shows

  • If you miss an appointment without notice, it will be considered a no-show and you will be charged for the session. If no card is on file, payment will be required before booking your next appointment.

Late Arrivals

  • If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to avoid inconveniencing the next client.
  • If there is not enough time left to begin a session, it may be forfeited. In either case, you are responsible for the full session fee.

Gift Certificates

  • Please let your therapist know if you are redeeming a gift certificate when booking or before your session.

  • All gift certificates expire 6 months from the date of purchase.
