 Chris Yovanovich began her yoga journey in 2003 after a long and challenging battle with fibromyalgia. Her path to healing began through breathwork and meditation, which she studied deeply over three years with Paramahansa Yogananda’s Self-Realization Fellowship. She was initiated as a Kriyaban and experienced profound physical and emoti

 Chris Yovanovich began her yoga journey in 2003 after a long and challenging battle with fibromyalgia. Her path to healing began through breathwork and meditation, which she studied deeply over three years with Paramahansa Yogananda’s Self-Realization Fellowship. She was initiated as a Kriyaban and experienced profound physical and emotional relief—without ever having stepped into a physical yoga class.

Inspired by these results, Chris enrolled in Cityoga’s 200-hour teacher training to explore the physical practice of yoga. The transformation she experienced led her to leave her career as a social worker in long-term care, where she had served for a decade, and devote herself full-time to sharing the healing power of yoga.

From 2006 to 2010, Chris taught full-time at Cityoga and also offered classes at various businesses and schools throughout the Indianapolis area. In 2010, she joined Peace through Yoga, where she designed and led the studio’s first nationally accredited 200-hour teacher training program—eventually guiding ten of these trainings, as well as three 300-hour advanced programs. She also co-led immersive yoga retreats in India and Costa Rica.

Collaborating with Dr. Sally Bassett, Chris developed and taught two accelerated 200-hour trainings at Butler University. In 2016, she and her husband opened Indiana Yoga Studio in a beautifully renovated historic building on the downtown square of Lebanon, Indiana. Over the next five years, she led eight 200-hour and three 300-hour teacher trainings there before selling the building in the wake of the pandemic.

During this time, Chris also partnered with theologian Dr. Helene Russell to bring five 200-hour teacher trainings to Christian Theological Seminary. The most recent cohort graduated in December 2023. This innovative collaboration integrated Viniyoga (a therapeutic approach to yoga) with coursework in the Master of Divinity and Mental Health tracks—offering a groundbreaking blend of yoga and theological education.

Chris has been married for 21 years to her best friend, Tim, and they are proud parents to their daughter, Sophie, a sprinter on Indiana State University’s track team. Outside of teaching, Chris enjoys writing and performing music, reading, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with loved ones.

 Emma discovered yoga in 2017 during a time when she was navigating challenges with her mental health. The practice quickly became a source of comfort, strength, and healing. Since then, her love and admiration for yoga have remained a consistent and grounding force in her life.

In the spring of 2024, Emma chose to deepen her practice and

In the spring of 2024, Emma chose to deepen her practice and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training through YogaRenew, earning her certification in 2025. She is excited to share her passion for yoga with the Brownsburg community and is especially drawn to the transformative power of mindful movement.

Emma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Brain and Behavioral Sciences from Purdue University (Class of 2023) and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Indiana University Indianapolis. Her academic background provides a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics, which she weaves thoughtfully into her classes.

A firm believer that movement is medicine, Emma is passionate about helping others find empowerment, balance, and joy through yoga. When she’s not on the mat or in school, you can find her training for a triathlon, enjoying the outdoors, exploring local coffee shops, or cuddling with her cat, Pumpkin.

Jamie believes that cultivating wellness in all areas of life—mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual—is key to true happiness. Her classes reflect her passion for holistic healing and her deep commitment to ongoing learning and self-discovery. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, is a trained crisis intervention specialist, and is certified in Ojima Reiki I. Her approach is informed by both professional training and a rich personal journey of transformation and growth.

In 2012, Jamie deepened her path through a nine-month immersion in ashram living at the Ayurveda Health Retreat, where she taught multiple weekly classes, performed in kirtans, and studied Ayurvedic lifestyle practices. The following year, she completed the intensive 28-day residential “Living Yoga Training” program at Yogaville, the ashram founded by Swami Satchidananda, where she lived, worked, and fully embraced yogic living.

Her teaching journey continued at Sage Hills Healing Center in 2014, where she also engaged in Kundalini Yoga teacher training. In 2018, Jamie completed a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat, which profoundly influenced her personal practice and enhanced her ability to offer deep presence to others.

In addition to yoga and meditation, Jamie’s healing path has included Ecstatic Dance, Holotropic Breathwork, the Wim Hof Method, fasting, and a health-conscious diet. Her classes are infused with authenticity, compassion, and a sincere desire to help others connect more fully with themselves.

Janet has been teaching Pilates modalities for over 20 years and is certified through both Balanced Body and STOTT. She is the founder of Core Restore Pilates, where she shared her passion for movement and wellness with countless clients before retiring from business ownership in August 2020.

Yoga first became a powerful tool for Meagan during challenging seasons of life. Through the practice, she experienced both physical transformation and spiritual growth. Now, as a teacher, she finds deep joy in witnessing her students experience the same evolution—gaining strength, clarity, and peace through movement and breath.

Meagan’s classes are a reflection of her passion and energy. She encourages students to explore their own unique journeys, helping them discover inner strength, resilience, and a sense of calm.

Since 2016, Nancy has enjoyed guiding students through various styles of yoga, including vinyasa, slow flow, gentle, restorative, chair, and yin. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that the world needs more yogis, and she’s passionate about making yoga accessible to all. With a functional approach to movement, she helps students explore the mind-body connection in a way that supports their unique needs and abilities.

During her 200- and 300-hour yoga teacher trainings, Nancy developed a deep interest in the 8-limbed path of yoga and its sister science, Ayurveda—a 5,000-year-old holistic health system. She is a certified Chopra Ayurvedic Health Teacher and Chopra Meditation Instructor, and continues to integrate these teachings into her classes and lifestyle.

A lifelong learner, Nancy honors her many teachers and remains grateful for the ongoing lessons she receives from the students she serves.

When she’s not busy running her two kids to school and practices, Stephanie is often training for road or trail races. She has completed two marathons—the U.S. Marine Corps Marathon in 2018 and the Virtual Big Sur Marathon in 2020—as well as countless half marathons, 5Ks, and trail races.

To balance the intensity of her running, Stephanie found a new passion in Yoga and Pilates, discovering how these practices complement endurance training and promote overall wellness. An Indiana native, she attended Avon High School where she was active in sports, band, and color guard. She furthered her studies in communications at Olivet Nazarene University and pursued dance at Santa Monica College.

Early in her career, Tiffaney gained notable success, including a clothing and shoe sponsorship from Nike and a grant from World Fit for Kids, which allowed her the honor of teaching dance to inner-city middle schoolers.

Her talents have taken her across the globe and throughout the U.S., performing and teaching in diverse settings. Tiffaney has trained in multiple fitness formats and recently completed her BASI Pilates certification, including both the Foundation and Graduate Programs, covering all Pilates apparatus and mat work.

From the start, Tiffaney realized that true fulfillment came not from fame, but from the connections she built and the ability to help others through movement. She has taught students of all ages and abilities—from novices to professionals—and cherishes each teaching experience.

In July 2020, Tiffaney returned to her hometown of Avon, Indiana, with her daughter and is happy to be home, continuing her passion for fitness and community.

She is also the author of

Beyond her passion for yoga, Julia’s diverse career includes service as a U.S. Marine Corps Officer and founding the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library, an organization dedicated to championing free speech.
