Thinking about trying Reformer Pilates but not sure where to begin?

You're not alone.


Many people are excited to try Pilates but wonder:

  • What exactly is a reformer?
  • What do all those springs do?
  • Will I know what I'm doing?
  • Am I "fit enough" to start?

At Inner Balance Wellness Studio, we believe your first Pilates experience should be welcoming, educational, and confidence-building—not intimidating.

That's why we created Start Strong, our exclusive beginner series designed specifically for individuals who are new to Reformer Pilates.

Whether you've never exercised before or you're simply new to the reformer, we'll help you build a strong foundation in a supportive, small-group environment.


No prior fitness or Pilates experience is required.


Why We Created Start Strong


As our studio has grown, so has the demand for our Foundations classes. While we continue to offer Foundations on our regular schedule, those classes often fill quickly with existing clients who are progressing through their Pilates journey.


We wanted to ensure that those who are brand new to Pilates have a dedicated place to begin.

Start Strong was created to provide a safe, welcoming introduction where beginners can learn the fundamentals before joining our regular class schedule.


By keeping this series exclusively for new clients, we're able to slow things down, answer questions, explain the equipment, and provide the individualized attention every beginner deserves.


Our goal is simple:

Help every new client feel safe, supported, and confident from day one.


What You'll Learn

Session 1 – Reformer Fundamentals


During your first session, you'll become familiar with both the studio and the reformer.

You'll learn:

  • Studio orientation
  • Reformer parts and equipment safety
  • How spring resistance works
  • Proper breathing and alignment
  • Core engagement fundamentals
  • Footwork and foundational exercises

Session 2 – Building Confidence


Now that you're familiar with the reformer, we'll build on those skills by introducing common movements you'll experience in our regular classes.

You'll learn:


  • Pilates terminology and instructor cues
  • Exercise transitions
  • Modifications and options
  • Common class exercises
  • Review and Q&A
  • Preparing for your first Foundations class

Program Details

Two Consecutive Tuesdays

 6:00–6:50 PM

 $79
(Includes both sessions.)

 Limited to 6 participants

A minimum of two participants is required for the series to run.

Because each session builds on the previous one, participants are expected to attend both classes.


Who Is Eligible?

Start Strong is reserved exclusively for new Inner Balance Wellness Studio clients with little to no Reformer Pilates experience.

This series is designed for those who are just beginning their Pilates journey.

If you already have significant Reformer Pilates experience, we'd be happy to help you find the class that's the best fit for your experience level.


Start Strong may only be taken once per person.

Registrations that do not meet the eligibility requirements will be canceled and refunded so the spot can be offered to a new participant.
